The social housing issue really can't be lumped onto immigrants to be honest... My area has very low immigration (it's the sort of place where people still do a double-take if they see a black person) and the social housing situation is dire. 90% of it was snapped up in the early 90s and is now privately owned, and they aren't building more. Not just "not building enough" - they aren't building any at all. One would imagine that that is the main issue.
