In TV Shows or Films when you see a character when they're younger and then seeing them when they're considerably older and some of the people that you got used to them hanging around have gone.
In real life however it's got to be attention seekers, because they mustn't be very satisfied with their life if they're so obsessed with being in the limelight all of the time even if it's for selfish acts.
