Most London streets can't be widened because they were built for horse and carriage and not modern day. The rows upon rows of brick terraces don't have driveways and so have to park, not only on the road but halfway onto the pavement so cars can manoeuvre past them.
As long as they don't block the entire pavement, it doesn't bother me.
