I think it's utterly reprehensible to condemn a child to life without parole regardless of the crime. Children can be redeemed, they can grow and learn more so than adults. I think any judge that would do that to a child is a monster, especially in this case when it's ultimately the fault of the state for failing her in the first place.
I think Life without parole is an acceptable punishment for adults that commit unforgivable crimes but it should not happen to kids.
