I agree with this. For me (and this is probably going to sound really facetious and I don't mean it to) but I try and sort of equate things like this with gay things because that's the only experience I have of being in a minority or being part of a group that sometimes faces attack. So with this video, if say a gay person had taught their dog to mince around every time the owner yelled 'fagot' or something, I'd probably think it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen
BUT if it was a straight person who did it, I'd probably feel much more uncomfortable about it, and maybe feel like they were being derogatory, or think there might be undertones of homophobia, or just generally that they don't have the right to do that. The difference is that they're using a word, or a group's experiences without being able to fully appreciate the feelings of the people who will be affected the most by it. So something about it just kind of stings a bit. When you know that the person doing it does understand, then it takes all that away and you can appreciate the humour in what they're doing. That being said though, I still don't think that what he's done should be considered a criminal offense.
