Unbelievable that she forgot where she was, although I have at times when rushing around.

The general acceptance of the incident was that the person said they were Polish scroungers.
Had that been said about anyone from Pakistan or India for instance,they would have likely, and rightly in my view, had a talking to or been even arrested for a possible racist or offensive public comment.

Politicians really need to be careful of what they say now anywhere, as depending on the party,mainstream or not any unguarded comments will be headline news it seems.
UKIP have suffered badly from that in the past for silly comments made by their supporters or candidates too.

If the person who said they were Polish scroungers as a family without really knowing them but just knew of them, then maybe what this MP said back was justifiably what that person warranted being said to them.

Does this sort of thing affect voters,probably not, the mentioning of Gordon Brown's incident from 2010,still resulted in the lady he had the problem with,supporting Labour and indeed them still winning the seat of Rochdale too.
