Real Psychologists actually don't do that. Treat this show (bar one or two things) as a mainstream gimmick with no real analysis
I agree Verloren, they don't mention the constant camera focus, and therefore demand characteristics but they're either:
a) Assuming it's all subconscious and therefore artificial doesn't come into it (I don't even think they're professional enough to consider this option though).
b) Their target is audience will accept every word they say

Don't get me wrong, sometimes they touch on some good points but largely it's just one of those whacko things. I wanna see real analysis (approaches included), with reference to confounding variables - but alas, that'll reduce viewers by at least half
