I think it's an excellant idea. Young people who have no discipline in the home can benefit from guidance anddiscipline.
They still have it here in Denmark and a lot of young people seem to enjoy the experience. People are excused if they are in further education or have a medical reason, but otherwise young men and women are required to serve for 2 years from 18-20
