Germany and France have indeed been compromised - and we all knew it would happen. What the United States decides to do screening wise to foreigners entering is their business - it is their country after all and they are sovereign and have control of their own borders (something that European countries, including the United Kingdom, do not seem to have anymore). Protecting your own border is crucial now more than ever. Thankfully the United Kingdom isn't in Schengen.
