Exactly, the reason they hate him so much is that he challenges their egos,, their self-importance and their ability to "rise above it" and keep their cool like they feel they should be able to as "the better people", which they are just not. One of the things that summed it up for me was Biggins going and him saying "Meh, I don't care" and the rest of them being like "
waaah I do though". They DON'T, it's crap, if anything they're salivating at their chances to win increasing slightly, and that's it.
