I think there's more to the resentment of Bear than this. I don't particularly like him but he showed how shallow her claims were of friendship and trust when she knew about the spitting incident. He quite rightly called her on it. She assumed a role of protection for him and it was all show. He has no respect for her and why should he after that farcical claim.
