Shot Horror
Day 65, 19:12
Saturday 31 July
The housemates have added £10,000 to their prize after downing a selection of drinks which left them retching and vomiting.
Stuart stared open-mouthed and Shell laughed disbelievingly after Big Brother assembled the housemates to tell them that successfully completing the obstacle course had earned them nothing.
The real test would be to down 10 shots - a gut-boiling selection of salt water, cod liver oil and fish milkshake. Each shot downed would add £1,000 to their prize fund.
Nadia was first to the Diary Room, clutching a towel to her face.
Uttering "Oh my God!" she settled in the Diary Room chair and surveyed the shots.
First down the hatch was the salt water, to applause from the housemates who were watching the action on a plasma screen in the living room. Coughing, she forced down a shot of cod liver oil, hesitating mid-shot as the contents of her stomach threatened to make a reappearance.
"She's a trouper, you know," gasped Daniel in admiration.
But it all became too much for Nadia. Violently retching, she fled the Diary Room, whizzing through the living room to vomit in the garden. Shell soon followed to comfort her.
Daniel was next to take up the challenge. Sniffing the shot glasses and frowning, he managed to down a shot of salt water. Lips puckered and face scrunched up, he struggled to the hold the liquid down and departed the Diary Room at speed.
Shell attempted to talk herself into knocking back a shot after examining the fish gut milkshake.
"It's raw fish guts," she said in horror. Unable to continue she left the Diary Room.
Stuart adopted a gung-ho attitude to tackling the fishy concoction. Chanting a self-motivating mantra he went for the first shot. Ensuring he got every last drop of the mixture he dragged his finger round the glass, retching and coughing.
The second shot got the same treatment. "I think this one's actually looking at me," he considered as he contemplated a third shot of the vile fish milkshake and then gulped it back.
His nerve finally failed him after rounding off his attempt with a cod liver oil chaser.
"Jay? Can you take these?" pleaded a watery-eyed Stuart indicating the three remaining shots of fish milkshake.
And Jason too displayed nerves of steel. Toasting absent friends the Scot raised his glass, gulping back his first shot and chewing on the less well-blended fishy bits.
Undeterred, he went for the next. "Feels good!" he insisted gruffly stirring his next fish shake with his finger.
"How's my hair looking?" he asked, touching up his barnet, before going for a hat trick.
Stuart dashed to hug Jason as he emerged triumphant from the Diary Room and Shell too was keen to offer congratulatory hugs.
The prize fund now stands at £63,500.
