Yeah same for me, I don't think I appreciated her as much at the time, probably because she was overshadowed by the race row stuff, but she was great on rewatch! A weird mix of slightly unhinged and sensible/relateable
Also she just seemed like she wanted to have fun, when considering that's what the younger ones get cast for and they were mostly notoriously vile, makes her stand out even more.
