I think he is giving him good advice...if Brian "pushes" things too far people will dislike him and more so Amanda will go off him. To me it seemed Amanda was more interested in drinking her tea than kissing Brian she didn't look comfy but went with things at the time. I don't like the desperate side of Brian...he needs to find his spark again without Amanda and be funny again.
