Generally no - but I had a pretty horrendous experience having one of my toenails removed. Local anaesthetic needle stabbed into tendon... horrendous. It also refused to take properly but I was so done with her poking needles into my foot, that I just said it was totally numb and let her rip the nail off without full anaesthetic

But for taking bloods / donating blood /etc. I have no issue with needles.
