If someone's unhappy in a relationship, they should end it. Cheating isn't justifiable.
The only situation where I'd feel sympathy for the cheater is if someone is in an abusive relationship and can't see a way to end it and finds solace with someone else. Otherwise, there's no excuse, and certainly not simply being unhappy.
