Mother-of-two Sophie Newcombe, 26, was unpacking the weekly shop when she spotted a white nest attached to the side of a banana.
She dropped the fruit in fright and both Sophie and her partner, Ashley Gamble, watched in horror as the
Brazilian wandering spiders escaped in all directions through their Leicester home.
The venomous spiders have a bite that cause long and painful erections in males, followed by death, within a matter of hours.
