By gimmicks I mean the choice of housemates relied on 1 aspect of their personality. For example Pete's tourettes, Lea's breasts, Shahbaz being a nutcase, Richard being the token gay guy.

Who cares about Gimmick, thats not housemates fault, it is the media, Shabaz was a nutcase, and made fun TV, Richard has to be in level with Nikki Grahames diary room performance in big brother ever.

I like characters with depth like Makosi, which is why I love BB6. The characters evolved and got more intersting as the series went on. The housemates in BB7 got more boring because after the novelty factor wore off (Pete's tourettes, Lea's hideous boobs, Richard being the stereotypical gay guy and Nikki's tantrums) they had nothing else to give.
