I think with BGT and IAC, it's because they're fairly short running compared to the other's and so it feels more of an event when it's coming back on telly. Moreso IAC as that's only on for 3 weeks of the 52 week year and it's been associated with Christmas in the UK which has managed to embed it in British culture.

BBUK/CBBUK are on for like 16 weeks a year and so it always feels like the last series and has only just ended (which is literally the case with BBUK and summer CBBUK) and the same with TXF. Everyone is usually like 'It doesn't feel five minutes since it was last on!' when the XF adverts start appearing in July/August.
