I actually watched a lot of this and was rather dismayed at the, what to me, sounded weak arguments for the lawyers acting for the govt.

However, with a UK divided almost down the middle and such major decisions and actions required now as to leaving, I felt really was this the best way for this PM to allow things to proceed.

To create more division and suspicion and hostility from both sides of the argument.

She is sitting at present,( it may change after next weeks by-election), with a voting strength of her 'own' MPs, of 328 in Parliament.
She would be guaranteed the UKIP's MP vote and the 8 of the Northern Irish DUP MPs too.

Labour MPs like Kate Hoey, Gisela Stuart also would likely be in the voting lobby with her too.

4 Sinn Feinn MPs do not even come to the UK Parliament.
That leaves barely, excluding whatever number of Labour MPs would support her motion of triggering article 50, of 306 votes against at the full maximum possible.

What does this ridiculous woman want to do that she feels she cannot even rely on her own MPs to support such a motion.
She could, and should have had this all over and done with and not fuelled more annoyance to leave voters,and also suspicion and further animosity between some of those on rival sides of this issue.

Ridiculous and unnecessary,and if she cannot really rely on even her own MPs to win this argument then she should bring about a general election and see what comes from that.
What an almighty farce she has helped create by her stubbornness in not simply having a simple vote in Parliament, thereby not only getting things moving but also insuring her govt against any other claims of possible wrongdoing as to the process too.

She is hopeless,totally hopeless.
