Can I just say, I know it won't be any help to you, but I found a lot of solace in it...
A family member of mine (my cousin, he was 15) was stabbed in the neck a year or so back and it severed a main vein and he was bleeding loads. When he was on the hospital bed apparently he died at one point for quite a while and they were about to call his death when his heart started again.
Afterwards he spoke to me about it, and he said it was the happiest, most calming feeling ever. He told me that it was like everybody he loved in the world had hugged him all at once and he knew everything was going to be okay - this is apparently when he died. After hearing this I am no longer worried about dying at all, and I think this is what dying is like. This story really helps me if I ever need to grieve a loss.
