Because he swore allegiance to IS. If the Security Services okayed the release of the information that IS claimed responsibility, then that's good enough for me. There are systems in place. They don't accept the word of a terror group. Denying us that information would amount to an untruth.
Being in deep denial about the state of play isn't going to help anyone.
