I don't understand why people are mocking her because it is only the first few days, right at the beginning of being away is when people are most likely to be homesick. People who get homesick take a few days to adjust.

I was homesick for the first week when I went to Uni, but after the second week I didn't go home for a full three months even though it was just 90 minutes away.
