I read it all and it's all very really touching. It reminds me of when my family (with him) decided to move my (widower, advanced cancer-sick) grandpa to this care home and one week after it he choked on his food and passed away. It came to all of us as a shock, understanding how everything is so fragile. But we knew it wouldn't have got any better had he remained alive, and as he lived life to its fullest, altogether it was bitter sweet. We remember and cherish him and the good person that he was with a great smile on our faces and you celebrating her life is the best thing you could have done.

Oh that's ever so sad and unexpected, I'm so sorry, that must have been a huge shock. He sounds like a lovely man, I'm sure he is a very proud grandpa looking down on you all.
