No...irrelevant that she knew or not...if you don't know someone's past you shouldn't make such a vile comment.
I work in the public domain and if I am dealing with someone who seems miserable and non reactive I don't assume they are rude and moody...they could be dealing with a bad situation in life...it's called TACT...and Nicola is tack and has no tact...end of.
