Lorry drivers are assessed regularly, they can't just trundle along until they retire. But I agree with what you say what jobs are suitable for doddery old dears?
As stated we are living longer but due to age related change and chronic illness they are not healthy years, so are we going to see jobcenters crowded with OAPs trawling their oxygen tanks behind them to sign on?
