Because all those things she used to do, they were just layers on top of her artistic-ness (if that's a word). I think she's always had more to offer than the average pop star and that's clear even from The Fame Monster, but I just think it's a case of her getting older and adapting her music to how she feels now, which any musician probably does.

I accept it. I just found her first two singles from the last albums not interesting/amusing as they should be. She's a good singer, but it wasn't something to release as a single, especially not first. This John Wayne sounds and looks more like her, but still not as strong as some of her previous singles.
