I really think it's time we had ID cards which should be produced when you use the NHS or try to claim benefits etc etc etc. It was a really backward step of the Coalition Government to scrap it when Labour introduced it. Nobody was forced to have one and it could be used as a passport in the EU. I actually opted for one and used to go to Spain. The thing is though with so much benefit fraud and NHS tourism from overseas visitors we need something official or there will be no money left!
