Exciting news for fans of BBC Three's comedy Witless: it's coming back for a third and final series.

Series two of the online show launched just weeks ago, so if you're not up to date yet, be warned that there are some spoilers below.


Kerry Howard and Zoe Boyle of course reprise their roles as Leanne and Rhona, two flatmates who stumbled upon a gangland shooting and had to enter the witness protection programme.

Series two ended on a bit of a cliffhanger with the girls attempting to infiltrate a dangerous gang, and it seems things will be picking up straight from there.

Kerry Howard told the BBC she's "beyond thrilled" the series will be back and can't wait to find out what will happen to the two friends this time.

"It's so wonderful to be a part of such a talented team on this dynamic show," she said.

"I thought I could second-guess our writers but I literally don't have a clue where they will take the troublesome double-act that is Leanne and Rhona, I just pray they don't kill us off!

"It's amazing to get a hat-trick and I'm so grateful to BBC Three for putting their faith in this show and letting us grow."

There's no news yet on when Witless will be returning, but we can't wait to see what the writers have in store next.
