It depends on how far the other person is going, away from just self-defense argument is the victim harassing the attacker to the point of breaking the attacker's mental psych? Did the victim mistreat the attacker in a really big way that caused the attacker to have a breakdown?
I won't go through them all but there are multiple circumstances where going verbal with someone won't work if the person is being incredibly unreasonable, although saying that I always go verbal on someone if they annoy me even if they are being unreasonable as I'm just not the most violent person in the world so I am going against my own advice lol.
In this case with the woman she should've told the guy to **** off, if he then kept goading her and harassing her then she should respond physically.
