The IRA were a side kick from the Irish civil war and hadn’t surrendered their arms since 1919. They had been blowing the Brits up since 1931 and we all know that there main intent was to rid Ireland of British rule. If we need to prosecute Sinn Fein for terrorist atrocities we need to do the same with President Clinton and his then government, who are well known for looking after Sinn Fein’s interests. At best they sympathized with the IRA and at worst, the U.S. NSC were aiding their cause with money and weapons. Popular opinion in the U.S. were very much behind the IRA but it appears that we forgive them.
As for the Good Friday Agreement, started by the Conservatives and concluded by Labour we at last found a solution for dismantling the IRA, (well thank fcuk for that) and the people involved in bringing about that agreement are now being called traitors by the ignorant few.

While the IRA have been granted pardons and freedom from prosecution, and some of their murderers have taken jobs of high-profile responsibility within their government, British Soldier who at the time were acting on the orders of the British government, are
still being prosecuted. And Corbyn was an IRA supporter... and probably still is. He's also an apologist for a variety of dictators in the Middle East. I think that support for Muslim dictatorships and terrorist groups has led to the much-denied anti-Semitism displayed by some of his followers who can't tell the difference between Jews and Israelis. And no amount of denial will change that fact.
It's a mystery to me why the Left always take up the cause of anyone but indiginous Brits. Even in Labours manifesto they make it clear they will fight for the rights of foreign workers in the UK post-Brexit. Not a frickin' word about British people in Europe. But then, the I've witnesses the Left mostly describe them as beer-swilling, bingo-playing "Little Brittons" on the Costa del Sol, and totally ignore the medics, the businessmen and women, the teachers, the scientists etc. And I've seen you yourself post that British culture is nothing more than wondering whether or not to take an umbrella with you.
