Tbh I agree with you that they shouldn't win as their not talented enough but I don't agree with #1 of your points as they're not using their sob story to get votes and nor are they exploiting their issues.

I actually find it quite refreshing that for once people are using a sob story on a show like this to good use by promoting the missing people of their lives as much as they can just in case someone comes forward.

It's got nothing to do with winning votes or gaining sympathy (although as a human being with ****ing feelings, come on you must have some sympathy if not admiration for these people)

BGT is one of the most popular shows on British telly and all their doing is using a choir to promote their charity with the intention of benefiting people's lives. Personally, I see nothing wrong with that.
