I found it interesting enough in the context of the larger MCU but as a film on its own it wasn't the best. The character isn't particularly likable, the villain was really build up but then when it came down to it was sort of lame... and the "love interest" part was totally pointless.
But yeah... important to the infinity stones storyline etc. so I still enjoyed it in that sense.
Iron Man 3 is just totally redundant. His suit keeps breaking like a slapstick comedy, Gwyneth Paltrow gets superpowers... and if that's not ridiculous enough... the whole story seems to be about him choosing his family life over being Iron Man... except he obviously doesn't actually do that because Age of Ultron and Civil War and so on.
so what IS it even about.
