I didn't say anything about the men... I didn't say anything about women in general even... I was talking SPECIFICALLY about the woman who wrote the article because she seems to believe some things that just are not true. The only part of what she wrote that I suppose you could say is unfair on men in the same way, is when she says that older men are stupid to think that a younger woman "will be thrilled" if he shows her attention.
From the flipside, her actual ideas about men and women, she's prety sad and cynical about both in equal measure to be fair. She paints men as being only truly interested in younger women, but she also seems to be suggesting that women are only interested in men who are either "hot and young" or "rich and old". She's quite equal opportunities in making people out to be horrible and shallow.
But anyway... my sympathy was only for her and her depressing view of life and relationships, I have no idea where you got the idea that I was expressing "empathy for women", I was actually pointing out that she is wrong in her ideas about what men want and being unfair... and I'm TOTALLY baffled as to where men having a lower average lifespan comes into it? Neither the thread nor the link has anything to do with health (beyond reproductive health) or mortality??
