It's the inference that she states someone because of intelligence, success or upbringing should not be usually friends with those she sees as lesser,which is arrogantly offensive.

Charlotte maybe sees it like that, but maybe she doesn't know any better
it's only positive she thinks of Raph as a intelligent classy person, and maybe he is genuine in his friendship but i worry if Chanelle is that genuine in that friendship, maybe she is using Raph to get further in the competition
and Raph is too good to see him get hurt
