What a week you're having. The good news is that you've had it diagnosed and you're having it treated. I have two friends who are diabetic. One takes medication (type two) and one has type one like you and has to inject regularly. At first she was in total shock but she had to get herself used to it. She found she could still eat the things she wanted to in moderation and drink too but she needed to adjust her insulin and keep an eye on her levels.
I know it can't be very nice having to inject yourself daily but you will feel the better for it. I have to take medication daily and without it I am in horrendous pain, that's life and I quickly got used to feeling better and happier - You will too.
