That's not intended as a slur against working class people... Just the (common and age old) assumption that anyone with a stronger accent must therefore speak for all of the "normal folks" in their area.

For me it's an admission that some 'working class' are easier to influence, otherwise why are they the only ones who are receptive to his 'truths'?
