I think people reflect themselves on others.. they hear about x being depressed, and they see qualities of x than they want in themselves, and then it doesnt make sense that x is depressed because they have that one quality that they want.. "how can x be depressed when he gets all the girls in the world? How can x be depressed with all that money? How can x be depressed with that huge family? I wish I could have that"
When actually, these qualities are not contributing positively or negatively to the individuals depression, its an entirely separate entity, and theres more to x than what others see on the surface.
