I wouldn't recommend it personally...
Things that you have to touch, are only any good if they're protected.
EG. The Nintendo DS folds and has a special pen to touch the screen with.
Whereas this screen, as far as im aware, is the same style as the PSP?
And is exposed and open.
You'd be surprised how damaged and scratched it can get, even from merely being in your pocket.
As it becomes damaged or less visually pleasing due to marks etc, you'll just plain not care about it as much anymore. Kind of like buying a new pair of trainers, trying to keep them nice and clean, then damaging/ripping/dirtying them and suddenly you just throw them in the corner, take them off with your heel, let them get dirty etc.
Only an Ipod isn't a trainer, it's a much more fragile and valuable product.
