Jim Davidson makes insulting comments about things he doesn't understand...
He has several failed marriages, and got into arguments with Adele. And just happened to make many comments on her being a girl, the way she acts because she's a girl etc.

Then he goes and does the same thing to a gay man.

I honestly think he dislikes gay people due to his lack of knowledge and perhaps old fashioned views. And he dislikes women due to his past.

It's a shame, because in his prime he seemed like a nice man...when he was presenting TV shows etc. But it's obvious that it was all an act.
I assume he's much worse off camera, when nobody is displaying his actions/words to the entire nation.
