Perhaps the general public don't let petty arguments/ so called racism rows effect which perfume smells the nicest =]
If so, then good for them.

As for Shilpa being a Z-Lister, or A-Lister, or any other list...
I know she was widely unknown by the British public and pretty much all TV presenters who interviewed her. And I don't think she's a particularly famous person in America at all. So she's only famous in the country she came from, and countries of a similar culture.

She's definitely experienced success, but I wouldn't say she's that high up on the lists in regards to the entire planet.

I did find it quite interesting when she appeared on Big Brother and showed what a sheltered life she'd been leading. On one hand, she revealed just how badly behaved, inappropriate, rude, filthy and ridiculous British youth/women can be. On the other, she said she'd never ever been talked to like that before, or seen people behaving like that before...which made me laugh, as to how clueless she was to the general publics behaviour.
