Nothing about it is groundbreaking or revolutionary at all and seems to have been dumbed down.

What you said about me disliking popular music in general is so far from the truth. I think Lana Del Rey is great and so is Lorde... but that's just two examples. Taylor is definitely overhyped right now. You can't browse any website or listen to radio or watch tv without hearing about her. By the time this era is over she'll be more hyped than Ed Sheeran ever was....which basically equates to being spoon fed to the masses and forced to listen to or enjoy something some of us never gave a sh!te about in the first place. Thank f^ck I have my own mind and don't fall in line with everybody else.
I don't really see your point about past eras. I actively listen to 80's and 90's music, and I was born in 97. Yes, every song in the charts isn't for everyone. Also, you can't go anywhere without seeing her? That's because she has literally just released new music after three years away. The exact same happens with ANY new release. It's nothing new. Whenever a artist releases new music, they are everywhere and that's just because mainstream media pick up on it. What's the deal? I don't see why it's suddenly just Taylor who is being "overhyped" when every other artist receives the same treatment when they release new music.
