I think by that they obviously mean it didn't cross their minds in the creation of the ad (ie. it wasn't at all a part of their intention).

Whether they predicted loons would twist their message is neither here nor there really. Admitting "yeah, actually we thought someone might take it out of context and make it racist" wouldn't achieve much IMO.
