CORRIE favourite Jennie McAlpine has become the latest big name to sign up for I’m A Celebrity.

ITV bosses have been begging the 33-year-old to enter the jungle for years, believing her popularity as TV’s Fiz Brown and lively personality will be a hit with viewers.

And she finally agreed to take on Aussie jungle critters like crocs, spiders and bugs after being offered a short leave of absence from her filming commitments on Coronation Street.

A show insider said: “Jennie’s been on the wishlist for some time and, after a lot of persuasion, she’s agreed to take part this year.

"Corrie have given it the green light because they’ve been able to reschedule her storyline filming  —  so everything has finally fallen into place.

“She’s bubbly and great fun, so the hope is she’ll be a great ad*dition. The producers are over the moon to get her.”

Jennie has played excitable factory worker Fiz since 2001 and also runs a Manchester restaurant with husband Chris Farr.

I’m A Celeb returns two weeks later than usual on November 19, after host Ant McPartlin got extra time to recover from battling a prescription painkiller addiction.

Mum-of-one Jennie joins stars including Bec*ky Vardy, wife of England ace Jamie, and The Saturdays’ Vanessa White in the Celeb line-up.

Others are Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lo*mas and Made In Chelsea’s Georgia Toffolo.
