But Gemma Atkinson, 33, is reportedly engaging in some playful text and video exchanges with former contestant Simon Rimmer, 54, in a WhatsApp group shared by the show’s broad mix of celebrity novices and ballroom professionals.
The naughty messages are said to be a source of amusement for other members of the group as Gemma continues to win high scores on Strictly, while married Simon – who was eliminated in week five – focuses on his presenting duties with Sunday Brunch.
Fellow former contestant Reverend Richard Coles told the Daily Star: ‘Some of the group excelled themselves when it comes to naughtiness - in particular, Gemma and Simon.
‘I couldn't possibly comment what type of videos and messages get shared, but there are eye-watering things.’
Speaking to Thursday morning's edition of Lorraine, Gemma admitted the contestants regularly stayed in touch via a WhatsApp group as she reflected on her rigorous rehearsals with dance partner Alijaz Skorjanec and surprise weight gain since joining the show.
