My ex best friend never came out anywhere, he spent all his time with his girlfriend and wouldn't come out to socialise. This wasn't just when they started dating, but went on for well over a year or more.
Maybe she was a little posessive/jealous or something, but he'd always choose not to come out anywhere. Which in turn made him so immensely boring that I stopped talking to him. Because he didn't go out = he had nothing to talk about the majority of the time.

ahh thats so sad and true, i understand it is hard when you have a best friend whois boring and wont socialise with you and prefers company from his girlfriend, perhaps she was better company to you, ever thought bout that
i can say that my friends sister does go out with one friend and she only has the one and we dont hear a whisper from her
another boring one
it also could be with your case that as you stop talking to him that you found out where his priority lies and that isnt with you
