Default How Bullies Drove BB\'s Dan To Suceed

HOW BULLIES DROVE BIG BROTHER'S DAN TO SUCCEED

09:30 - 16 August 2004
Big Brother star Dan Bryan today revealed how he was tormented by bullies for three years at school.

In an exclusive interview, Dan told the Mail about his difficult experiences at school - and how it inspired him to succeed.

Dan, 30, from west Hull, opened his heart after returning to the city for the first time since Big Brother finished.

The 6ft 5in singer described how pupils at Cottingham High picked on him because he was tall and different.

He said: "It was hard. I was bullied for a long time, mentally and physically.

"But somehow I knew I had to overcome it."

Dan arrived back in Hull on Friday for a flying visit.

He drank in his local, Pave in Princes Avenue, west Hull, on Friday, and made an appearance at the Jazzmakers Club at the Sailmakers Arms in High Street, Hull, last night.

He also surprised staff at the Ashoka Salon in Newland Avenue, west Hull, where he worked before going into the Big Brother house.

He then visited mum Jenny, 56, and sister Amy, 24, at their family home.

Dan was today travelling back to London for a meeting with Island Records about his band, iceHouse, tomorrow.
