The user can exceed/transcend the limitations of their life or lifespan, allowing them to do things like continue to live on, regardless of the fact they were destined/fated to die or disappear and even transcend a lifeless/undead state by making themselves alive again and much more.

The user doesn't gain immortality. Instead, they are transcending their own lifespan and reaching a point where they choose when to die or under what conditions they want to meet their end. Some users may even have enough skill to start their lifespan over again entirely.
