Women, disabled people, homeless people, people of different race and religions etc are all groups that can include gay people
The point being made was that some people discriminate against others regardless of what other 'category' they might fit in to specifically because they're gay... as it was claimed that that doesn't happen. (Yes other groups get discriminated against too but noone was actually denying that that happens).
