Michelle's portrait is a complete miss... I think they may have been following too closely the typical female face, because you can tell it's from learned facial dimensions and not actually considering the actual placement of her facial features. I don't think they intended it, but it happens, especially when you're not paying that much attention and you're working too fast and end up injecting learned habits of drawing feminine faces "from scratch"...
They did manage to catch her figure OK. Her head doesn't look correct proportionally, but it may just look like that because they got her facial shape wrong...
Accuracy aside, it's not a "bad" painting, it looks quite good compositionally... though I'm not really a fan of the muted colors or the "greyish" skin-tone.
(edit) I think our first art group project will be painting over their portraits and "fixing" them
